Re: Testimonial

Dear Uncle, Iegsaan

It was never a doubt that requesting Uncle Iegsaan to be my mentor for my University Mathematics module would not be a pass. As his experience and longevity has proven his results for a long time coming. Both my daughters have been students of his class and excellent results was never unnoticed.

During COVID online class would be given and these classes were always on time and if the laptop was not working the cellphone would be used instead, therefore you knew your online class would take place no matter what. The last time I studied Mathematics was close to 31 years ago and people would comment of how crazy I was to enroll for this module. But this module was a requirement to enlist for the programme I needed to do at the University. Commencing the Mathematics module, I was very green, but with sufficient guidance, patience and to almost reinventing the wheel was definitely a must for me if I was to pass this module. Uncle Iegsaan knew this as exercises from high school books were given to me to practice and to make sure I could already see the answers before calculating them. Mathematics to everyone I know is a very tricky and a difficult subject to understand, there are many ways in calculating a sum but still come out with the correct one. I was taught both ways and to then be comfortable to choose the one that works for me. Homework was never a boring task but an exercise to practice your brain to think out the box and it turned out that I began to LOVE and enjoy my Math. To know that you can take a task that looks like Greek and a whole page later you can understand this foreign language and still translate it into English.

I enjoyed so much learning from Uncle Iegsaan. He was not only a mentor for me in my Math, but in my life too. At the time we commenced our tutoring was the same time I lost my dear dad to Covid, and we were also in a process of moving house that I lived in for over 20 years. His advice, patience and knowledge truly kept my head above water. Thanks to Uncle Iegsaan I now have been conditionally accepted to do my Honours Degree at The University of Johannesburg in 2023 and I am still keen to do a Master’s Degree, if God permits.

We go through life so fast these days and never stop and say THANK YOU, so from the bottom of my heart SHUKRAAN, THANK YOU so much Uncle Iegsaan for never giving up on me and for your patience and guidance through my trials and tribulations of life, and to reinventing the wheel.

You were truly an angel that the Almighty gave me during this time.

May the Almighty grant you all your doahs and may his angels always keep you and your family safe.

Yours sincerely
